Citifon unveils cheap SMS to five countries

CITIFON yesterday launched its cheap international text messages service which would initially cover five countries.
Telikom acting chief commercial officer Kone Kula said at the launching in Port Moresby international SMS would for a start be available for the United States, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Taiwan.
Kula explained that SMS sent to these countries will only cost 23 toea per message.
He said the cost, at 23 toea per international SMS, will be much cheaper than other mobile providers.
The company hoped to expand the service to other countries in March.
By March, Telikom customers using Citifon will be sending and receiving SMS from over 10 countries that are frequently visited by Papua New Guineans and whose citizens have wide communities in the country.
