Citizens to discuss internet

PNG Digital ICT Cluster says it will organise a one-day citizens’ dialogue for Papua New Guinea on Thursday, to align with the global citizens’ dialogue on the future of the internet.
Fifty selected participants will represent the country in the citizens’ dialogue.
According to a statement, PNG Digital ICT Cluster said, the objective was to give voice to citizens on internet governance issues and build recommendations to submit to decision makers at local and regional level.
For one day, whether in Europe, Africa, South America, North America or Asia, citizens all over the world will gather in their respective countries to discuss the future of internet.
“This is a chance for citizens to become the decision-makers of their own digital life,” PNG Digital ICT Cluster said.
“This process is coordinated by a coalition of global partners coming from governments, international organisations and civil society.”
