City Pharmacy donates household goods to orphanage

CITY Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) has donated around K20,000 worth of household items to an orphanage in Port Moresby.
CPL founder and director Sir Mahesh Patel presented the items which included a water tank saying it was all about reaching out to the people.
The Porgera Mama Kone Mountain Women’s Association runs an orphanage and a homeless childcare centre at Konedobu in the Moresby South electorate.
There are 14 rooms at the centre which takes care of 20 orphans.
Association patron Philip Mungalo and wife Betty, the association president, thanked Sir Mahesh and the company for the gesture.
“An alarming number of homeless and orphanage children in our electorate need urgent care.
“We have so far identified many disadvantaged children who deserve a better future,” Philip Mungalo said.
“We cannot ignore them.
“Our society can take full responsibility in taking care of them and bringing them (up) to become disciplined, educated and responsible citizens by giving them the love, care and attention they desperately need.” Sir Mahesh plans to visit the centre regularly to see its progress.
“I want to look at the progress.
“Are the children actually going to school, and if they are going, are they learning, performing?
“Are they looked after health wise?
“The next thing is that I want to get my outreach medical team, nurses and pharmacist go out and check the health of the children, because I think health is going to be very important.”
The items donated include mattresses, kitchenware and a water tank.

  • Sir Mahesh, God will continue to bless you and your family. The title bestowed upon you is from God. You have have been and will continue to share your toil, hard work with the unfortunate children is encouraging. I wonder where are the Sir’s this country has recognized them?
