City soccer to play midweek games

THE NCD Public Servants Soccer Association has introduced a mid-week season to end the competition before the Federation of the International Football Associations Under-20 Women’s World Cup.
NCDPSSA president Vonnie Kapi Natto said there would be two more games before the finals.
All except the A-League and the lower divisions for men’s and women’s have two more weekends, which should see the finals on Nov 12, a day before the opening match of the World Cup. She urged all the club delegates to check the match coordinator Jonathan Tuka to find out when they would be playing their matches.
Last Sunday’s schedule at the Bomana Police Training College Oval, saw tempers flaring in the A-League match between POM Souths and Murat. POM South came out winners in the physical affair, which saw referee Albert Maru flashing yellow cards to bring tempers down.
In the other matches, SOG, led by Minan brothers Samuel and Kanawi, proved too strong to come out winners over Valley Strikers 1-0.
Midfielder Koudy Weva scored for the Waigani boys.
Nicky Rai, Bula Bovama and Philip Wawa shone for the Valley Strikers.
In the final match on Field 2, City United beat Musa 1-0. In the women’s A-League division, Murats beat POM Souths 1-0 and Musa drew with City United 0-0
