Cleaning company gifts club with uniforms, workout shirts

LOCAL cleaning firm Lae Ever Clean Limited on Thursday put a K6,000 smile on the faces of Rainy Lae FC players when the company presented a set of uniforms and walkout shirts to the team.
The team which has been struggling in the Women’s National Soccer League’s Northern Conference was boosted by the presentation.
Company owner Gordon Todd told The National that he started his business in Lae in 1997 and branched to Port Moresby in 2008.
He said the company had supported sports like rugby league and soccer.
He said the company’s support to Rainy Lae was worth K6,781.
“The whole cost involve in uniform, printing and airfreight was K6,781,” Todd said.
“We are more than happy to support our women’s team and on behalf of my wife Serah and children we are happy as family to lend a hand.”
He said the sponsorship was a small token of their commitment to their community and hoped to continue help young people through such initiatives.
Todd encouraged the team to continue to striving for improvement and for the players to learn from their involvement in the country’s top women’s soccer competition. Team manageress Carol Yawing thanked the Todd family for the uniforms and shirts.
She said her side would do their best to finish the season well.
