A REFURBISHED Morata clinic was officially handed over to its management as part of Bank South Pacific’s contribution to the community.
The renovations, which included extending the clinic’s waiting shelter, installing a water pump and standby generator at a total cost of K50,000.
BSP’s paramount banking and risk management staff teamed up to make the improvements to the medical centre.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, National Capital District Health Services director Dr Jerry Tanumei said the staff serves over a hundred patients.
He said the water tank would be used to store back up water and the standby generator would ensure crucial services and machinery were operated without interruption.
“We’re pleased that BSP, its management and staff have continued to reach out to add value to the Morata community, in providing the basics to assist,” he said.
He urged all members of the community, the clinic staff and patients to value and take care of the improved facility.
The Morata clinic has been a part of BSP paramount banking’s project since 2017.
BSP group chief risk officer Mike Hallinan said: “The community projects are undertaken by staff at all branches and Strategic Business Units. “As part of the community projects, our staff have the opportunity to give back to a community through volunteering time over weekdays and weekends.”
Hallinan thanked the clinic staff, management and community for allowing BSP to work in the community and give back through the project.
BSP Group chief executive officer Robin Fleming handed over the completed project to Tanumei, who accepted on behalf of the Morata community.
