Club holds first professional tourney in 3yrs

THE Papua New Guinea Golf Association held its Senior Open at the Lae Golf Club in the Morobe capital last week, after a three-year absence of professional tournaments there due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
It was the first PNG Senior Open.
Trukai Industries Limited was a gold sponsor of the tournament with a commitment of K50,000.
The tournament attracted some big-name golfers in the region, including Peter Senior, Glenn Joyer, Brad Burns, Chris Taylor and Andy Dakers.
Trukai marketing manager Maryanne Tom said the company was pleased to be a part of the tournament.
Tournament teed off on Thursday and ended on Saturday with the presentation, including K200,000 in prize money.
