THE Port Moresby Women Softball Association (PMWSA) has increased its nomination and registration fees for 2014-15 season.

Association publicity officer Antonia Kinit said the increase of fees were only for this season to cater for payments of umpires/scorers and ground maintenance at the University of PNG oval. The club nomination fee is K250, while the team registration fee is K200.

The players/club officials’s registration fee is K20. All the fees must be paid by Wednesday.

She said additional fee of K100 was for the late submission of team and club nomination fees.

The registration deadline for players, club officials (coaches/managers/scorers) is February 27.

An additional charge of K5 is imposed on late submission for these required fees.

Kinit urged all clubs, officials and coaches to pay their dues.

“If all teams cooperate then PMWSA should see an enjoyable season,” Kinit said.

Meanwhile, the Nancy Kamara Cup softball challenge is expected to pitch-off from January 10-11.

She, however, called on all clubs that there would be a general clean-up and diamond marking on Jan 5.

“The POMWSA is asking for volunteers from affiliates to help out in the grass cutting and diamond marking on said date.”  Teams taking part in the Kamara Cup are United Sisters, Stingerz, Wantoks, Wolves and Admiralty in Pool A while in Pool B has Gazelle, Bears, Chebu and Yokomo.

The Kamara Cup softball competition will be played in a round robin format.
