Coach cost Kumuls the game

THE loss to Fiji Batis was simply because our players were placed out of position by Coach Mal Meninga. Noel Zeming was only playing five/eight with the Goroka Lahanis about two years ago and was never a first-choice playmaker in the PNG Hunters either. Why did Meninga have him play half back and has he talked to Michael Marum beforehand? This was a huge mistake and the Kumuls were out of progression and ended up scoreless in the first half. The half combination was not flaring. The clear choices the coach had was to have Ray Thompson as half back and Puara Jr as hooker. Meninga should have gotten this win because as the Kumuls coach, he has not achieved much. I challenge him to use his influence and popularity in Queensland and the NRL Australia to negotiate for more NRL contracts for our talents. If Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler can scout for Fijian players and negotiate for NRL clubs to recruit them, why not you?
