CONSTRUCTION work on Coca-Cola Amatil PNG’s new facility in Lae has already commenced and is expected to be completed by early next year, general manager Philippe Mondada says.
Responding to queries from The National, Mondada said that apart from an array of capability building initiatives to up-skill the company’s workforce, the company had invested K155 million to upgrade its Lae site infrastructures to support the continued growth of its beverage portfolio that were 100 per cent PNG made.
He said construction for the new mega warehouse, new canning line, Lae depot and CCA Lae head office projects had all begun and were midway through completion.
“Each of the Lae redevelopment projects commenced consecutively from late last year through to March 2020, and are all expected to be completed by early next year,” he said.
“Coca-Cola Amatil PNG has been fortunate to roll out a number of its key initiatives despite obvious challenges this year.
“Apart from the infrastructural upgrades to our Lae site, and a successful ‘Share a Coke’ promotion, we have also picked up the pace in trade execution activities to ensure we are delighting our customers and consumers every day.
“Our capability building programmes have recommenced and our graduate development programme is on track with rotation of its participants taking place as scheduled.
“There is more to come with a new product launch and an exciting and innovative national consumer promotion.”
