MORE than 700 coffee farmers, both men and women, graduated from a coffee training course held in Menyamya, Morobe, last week.
A total of 713 farmers from Menyamya, Watut and the neighbouring Gulf province attended the training which they said was a first for the district at Kapao in Menyamya to help them produce quality coffee.
The training was brought to the farmers by Hamtai Coffee Ltd, a local and new coffee company, with the aim of imparting skills and knowledge to farmers on how to look after their coffee gardens and produce quality coffee beans.
All participants received world market coffee certification.
Trainer John Kabuba of Sugafina, a world renowned coffee producing company, said the training was aimed at certifying farmers from the farm gate to coffee roaster.
