THE Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) loan deal will continue to observe hygiene measures under the new normal practice, says an official.
COI chairman Sir Salamo Injia told the inquiry yesterday that this was consistent with the new directives issued by the Government last week, following the lifting of the state of emergency.
Sir Salamo said the commission would continue to observe the sanitising of hands, social distancing in the hearing room and avoid direct physical contact such as handshaking.
He said the wearing of masks would be ceased this week, but urged people to continue to observe the new normal practices.
Sir Salamo said the room at Muruk Haus was large enough to cater for up to 100 people.
However, he said by September, the hearings would be conducted at the Apec Haus because it had a larger capacity. Sir Salamo said the hearing would be conducted at Apec Haus to allow for enough room to observe social distancing.
