THE Port Moresby Business College launched its management strategic plan for 2021 to 2025 which focuses on delivering a high quality curriculum and services to its students.
The plan aims to guide the college to face challenges in the future and find opportunities to strengthen its capacity.
Principal Carmela Mokulabeta said a component of the plan included the introduction of new diploma programmes as well as a plan to offer degree programmes next year.
She said the leadership team that designed the strategic plan were driven by the school’s organisational values and vision statement.
“Our concern now is with performance and we must be driven by the mission statement to effectively implement this strategic plan,” she said.
“As I hold this book (strategic plan), I represent us all teachers, ancillary staff and students, let’s take ownership of this plan and start the implementation process.”
The plan includes key result areas and key performance indicators that the college aims to achieve in their five-year plan through excellence in teaching and learning strategies.
“In order to measure the success and effectiveness of the plan, a monitoring and evaluation framework and standard performance reporting format was put in place for the heads of departments, the principal and the governing council.”
The college is one of the higher education institutions to have its function transferred to the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.
