Brave lady
Everyone stood around and watched as two men in the midday heat at the Nine-Mile roundabout in Port Moresby decided to stage an impromptu boxing match on Friday. Then a young lady courageously walked up and separated them. One could assume that she was the subject of the fight because both men obeyed her order and stopped.
No beer
Colleague loves the lyrics of that popular country song by Australian Slim Dusty called “Pub with no beer”. He finally faced one such pub last Saturday at a major hotel in Port Moresby. The girl at the bar said the tap had been dry for at least a week.

Former Parramatta Eels rugby league star Semi Radradra is tipped to join the Sydney Rabittohs next season after a stint with rugby union in France. He represented Fiji in the recent World Cup in Japan.
More depreciation
It is now more than a year since those vehicles have been sitting at the Port Moresby wharf, exposed to the elements day in day out. The value depreciates.
Not clear
In Mount Hagen, a fight over a spot to sell soft drinks landed two women in court. Magistrate Lydia Karre however acquitted Martina John and Rebecca Markson because it was not clear who had started that fight.

Extreme heat
You know the fire danger is extreme when the Rural Fire Brigade puts out the warning: “Don’t even fart out there”.

The whole village agreed to come together at the village green to pray for rain. Only one boy brought an umbrella. That’s faith.
