Red and blue
A man returning from a late night Christmas party suddenly hit the brake of his car at the corner near his home when he saw red and blue lights flashing. Big sigh of relief when he found out they were the lights from his neighbour’s Christmas tree. Well, he let his neighbor have it.
Loan sharks
Like hungry beasts hiding and waiting for their prey, loan-sharks are watching and waiting as workers spend all their savings and end-of-year pay on food and gifts. One said: “After Jan 1, they’ll come running!”
Seven months
Parents are given until at least July to pay the 37 per cent component of school fees for their children attending elementary, primary and high schools – assisted by MPs, provinces and districts. There should be no excuse.
Too much
Colleague has been advised by the school that his sister attends in Morobe to prepare between K1,800 and K2,500 as next year’s fees. That’s the 50 per cent component. Did Marape just mention that it is 37 per cent, and not 50?
Trump irony
US President Donald Trump was impeached in the House of Representatives yesterday – December 18. It is also International Migrants Day. For a president who has been always saying to get “them” out, it’s seems he’s the one who has been given the boot. Karma, justice or both?
Thought for today
A good apology has three parts: 1) “I’m sorry”, 2) “It’s my fault”, 3) “What can I do to make it right.” Most people forget the third one.
