No Broncos
Ardent local rugby league fan was asked on Saturday why he was not at the NFS watching the double-header. He calmly replied that the Broncos or Cowboys should have been invited. Well, one cannot have it all.
Visiting season
There’s a bit of visiting going on to strengthen ties in the region (as if in anticipation of a major invasion!). Israel President Reuven Rivlin (left) was visiting Fiji. He met PM Voreqe Bainimarama (middle) and our PM James Marape (right). Marape then left for New Zealand to meet PM Jacinda Arden. This week, Arden is going to Fiji for one week. Something is afoot, don’t you think?
Same home
It can be tricky or awkward for an accused person having to live in the same home as a State witness to the crime. Maybe the court should order that they live far from each other.
Miss PNG
Colleague is wondering which of our beauty queens owns the new shop at a major shopping center in Port Moresby called Miss PNG. Some beautiful items on display.
I am leaving
Wife posted a note on the refrigerator door. It said: “This isn’t working. I have moved on.” Husband on arriving home opened the fridge door and listened. It was working fine. It is hard to understand women, they know nothing about refrigerators.
Toilet cleaner
Husband: When I get mad at you, you never fight back. How do you control your anger?
Wife: I clean the toilet.
Husband: How does that help?
Wife: I use your toothbrush
Thought for today
In life, many things don’t go according to plan. If you fall, get back up. If you stumble, regain your balance. Never give up!
Top quote
“These (national rugby league) players unite the country like no other. They are our national pride. Sadly after retirement, they have nothing to lean back on. We should start paying them a salary.”- Chuave MP Wera Mori in Parliament.
