Pay day
It is government pay-week and our hardworking public servants are wondering whether they will get paid today, or tomorrow, or the next day. Last fortnight, they were paid very late.
Calling Covid-19
A wife checking hubby’s phone came across a contact named Covid-19. It looked suspicious so she immediately dialed the number. Her phone rang. Oops.
Wrong order
A man at a drive-in food outlet in Port Moresby ordered a roasted chicken and gravy. When he got to the check-out counter, the cashier said the order he placed was for hamburger with gravy. Somebody needs ear-cleaning.
Pulling ear
When this Covid-19 is all over, you may need to wear your face masks at the back of your head for some time to allow your ears to return to their normal positions.
Day changed
Thankfully the Broncos match is being played this week on a day other than Thursday. Fans are hoping there will be a more favourable result.
Sharing stories
Some women are sharing their stories or those of their friends who are survivors of gender-based violence to raise awareness on the evil deeds happening in some homes. Sad.
Unused park
Someone is using an unused piece of land at a park in Boroko, Port Moresby to sell second-hand vehicles. Well, that piece of land, part of a park, has not been used for quite some time now.
Nothing to celebrate
July 4, which falls this year on Saturday, is Independence Day in the Land of the Brave and Free. Hard to celebrate when more people are dying from the Covid-19 and still more are being hospitalised.
Thought for today
Bad company corrupts good character. Choose your friends wisely.
