Back-burnered
With the Covid-19 occupying our thoughts at the moment, it seems everything else has been back-burnered, such as the petition on gender-based violence presented to Prime Minister James Marape last month after the death of Jenelyn Kennedy. It’s pending.
Similar colour
The colour of the K100 and K2 bills are similar. In poor light, such as at a bar while enjoying yourself and throwing caution to the wind, it’s hard to tell the difference. You can easily be poorer by K98.
Breaking curfew
A Grade Nine student was recently arrested for breaking the 10pm-5amn curfew. Police found him a little under the weather – and it was not from too much homework.
Lockdown baby
All Blacks locks Patrick Tuipulotu and his Silver Fern partner Phoenix Karaka are expecting their first child. Their friends are joking about the baby being conceived during the Covid-19 lockdown period. Well, there will be many to follow.
Useful lesson
The Covid-19 has taught us many things, such as that conferences do not require travelling or to be together in one room, that land lying idle in the backyard can be turned into a vegetable garden, that you can walk to the shop instead of driving.
Way to live
They are up early in the morning and waiting for you as you make your way to work with small items to sell. It used to be just newspapers. Now they are also selling cigarettes, soft drinks and facemasks.
Food for thought
Take a few minutes today to sit quietly by yourself and just be thankful for all that you have.
