More tears
A heavy downpour around noon yesterday in Moresby North East after Sir Michael’s body left the capital city for the final time. Everyone is grieving.
Funeral service
Even the best-planned events will encounter problems. But organisers should do everything possible to minimise them. Rain we cannot control, but the power supply disruption we can. So embarrassing last Friday!
Phone ringing
Embarrassing too was that moment at the hall in Parliament on Thursday when someone standing guard around the casket had to quickly put his hand into his pocket to turn off the phone when it started ringing.
No masks
There is no one else to blame but ourselves if there is a big surge in Covid-19 cases especially in Port Moresby. Some people did not bother to wear masks at recent public events despite the official warnings. So disappointing!
Thought for today
Life is a one-time offer. Use it well.
Top quote
“I believe with all my heart that Sir Michael is with the Lord right now. He was a true believer and a man of integrity.” – Cardinal Sir John Ribat during his homily at the funeral service mass on Friday.
