Pick fittest
Cameron Smith is right. The Maroons must pick only fit players for SOO2. They paid dearly for fielding injured players in SOO1 – a costly mistake by coach Green.
Virus-free
New Zealand, a land of around there million people, has lifted all Covid-19 restrictions declaring the country virus-free. PNG at this rate still has many more moons to go before it reaches that stage.
Stared at
Colleague boarded a 25-seater bus at 8Mile in Port Moresby yesterday and was stared at by everyone as if he had just committed a serious crime. He was the only passenger in the bus wearing a mask. Oh, well.
Much wiser
We are seeing a surge in development agendas in districts and provinces as the 2022 general election looms on the horizon. Hopefully the voters are much wiser now.
Littering unabated
Hundreds walking past this big drain at Boroko in Port Moresby ignore the eyesore which they contribute to through littering. They throw empty plastic (yes, plastic) bottles, cans and refuse into the waterway without any care for the devastating effect on the environment. City Hall is also turning a blind eye.
Food for thought
Having a clean and pure heart is a blessing. You do not have to doubt your blessings when others do not value it enough. And remember they are not blessed like you. So they cannot, even if they wish for it.
Top quote
“Port Moresby has been ranked as one of the least livable cities in the world, along with war-torn cities. This is a harsh verdict on our city, which we have worked so hard to build. To be ranked alongside Damascus is ridiculous and irresponsible. We want to know how this (rating) agency came to this conclusion.” – National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop.
