Where eagles dare
MANLY fullback Turbo, tipped for a 2021 Dally M medal, is very much on the minds of Rabbitohs’ coach Wayne Bennett and his players this week. They must stop him. MUST!
Supporting Olam
GREAT to see some of the NRL “legends” rallying around Justin Olam when his name was left out of the Dally M medal list for best center early this week. Thank goodness he is there now. Shame to those officials.
Rugby replays
THE way the television networks down under keep on replaying the Wallabies recent wins against the Springboks make it look they had won the World Cup, or even the 2021 Rugby Championship. Goodness!
Busy night
A BUSY Saturday night with the NRL preliminary semifinals and the Rugby Championship double-header this weekend. Stock up today, gentlemen!
Not fair
A READER’S observation: A taxi company offers free service to mothers on Mother’s Day but nothing for fathers on Father’s Day. He reckons it is a case of gender discrimination.
Toxic drink
THE case about those who almost drank themselves to the grave in EHP last week using ethanol reminds us yet again of the risks associated with such substances, including methylated spirit.
Marriage advice
A TIP for couples: Correct each other in private, defend each other in public, and keep your personal business off social media (Facebook).
Thought for today
Top quote
“I THINK I’m still growing, but it is good to hear great players say nice things about me. There’s a lot of good (NRL) centers in the game. When they say that about me, it is a blessing. I still feel like I’ve got a lot to improve on.” – Melbourne Storm center Justin Olam.
