Most trusted
A recent world survey found that doctors are the most trusted profession at 64 per cent. At the other end are politicians (10 per cent). Just above the politicians are government ministers (14 per cent). Need we be surprised?
Ugly sign
Graffiti scrawled over a sign board in front of the Gordon police station in Port Moresby, almost obliterates the important public information there. But no one wants to clean it up sadly.
Road closure
The closure of the entry to Cobon Street from the highway near the Gordon police station is unnecessarily causing traffic jams every week day. No explanation given for the closure.
18th NRL team
The Dolphins have joined the NRL as its 17th team. Hopefully, the PNG Hunters can be the 18 after meeting all the promotion criteria. Fingers crossed.
Common sense
Just because you went to college does not make you smarter than anyone else. Remember, common sense does not come with a degree.
Up to 15
It is good to see more passengers in buses in Port Moresby starting to wear face masks. Unfortunately not the drivers and the checkers who obviously also have a problem counting to 15.
Wise move
If you cannot get people to come for vaccination, take the vaccine to them. City Hall’s mobile clinic idea is thus commendable.
Big hill
Assuming that we have a population of around 10 million, then we subtract those below the vaccination age, we still need to reach around the 5 million mark to be safe. Big hill to climb.
Food for thought
Ego is just a three-letter word that can destroy a 12-letter word – relationship.
Top quote
“The spread of the deadly Covid-19 Delta variant is so fast that people are dying here and there like flies.” – Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority Dr Joseph Apa.
