Our total
As of Thursday last week, Oct 21, the population of Papua New Guinea stood at 9,167,068. This is based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data. Port Moresby alone is hovering around 400,000.
Sigh of relief
A collective sigh of relief in Port Moresby after the threat of a lockdown did not eventuate yesterday. But now the focus is again on the enforcement of the Covid-19 public health safety measures. Who is going to enforce them? How? When?
High-risk
PNG is rated a “high-risk” country as far as the Covid-19 pandemic is concerned right now. How long it will remain that way is up to each one of us. Seriously!
So resigned
Some of those in authority have resigned themselves to the fact that not much can be done about enforcing the Covid-19 health safety rules. But there is a solution to every problem on this earth, isn’t there?
Wrong water
Colleague walks up to the front door for an assignment at City Hall yesterday. She puts out her hand for the sanitiser only to be told it was not a santiniser, but the security guard’s water supply. It pays to look before putting out one’s hand these days.
Knowing poverty
Poverty is man-made. It is not natural.
Food for thought
Please remember: Your job is the dream of the unemployed. Your house is the dream of the homeless. Your smile is the dream of the oppressed. Your good health is the dream of those who are sick. Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself from negativity. Find something to be grateful for.
