Traffic jam
FINALLY, the deteriorating road at the traffic lights along Waigani Drive in Port Moresby is being fixed. However, the roadworks have caused traffic jams. Some city residents said that the contractor should have started the road upgrade when the kids were on holidays to avoid the traffic congestion. Fair point.
Happy days
A LOT of ribbon cutting, project launching and promises have been done by our MPs recently. Suddenly there is more money to spend. It is a good time to ask for help from your MP.

THIS Monday is Valentines Day – a day to express romantic love, friendship and admiration. Most men in Western countries usually take their partners to dinner or buy flowers and chocolates. For some women in the islands of love of Milne Bay, they are not accustomed to the fancy fanfare. All they need is betel nut and they will love you forever.

A COLLEAGUE said that she loves Valentine’s Day. She explained that this was the perfect time to buy loads of chocolates at a cheaper price. And no, the chocolates are not for her partner but for herself.

WORLD Cancer Day was observed on Feb 4. It is aimed at raising awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. People can prevent cancer by eating healthy food and reducing or stopping smoking, drinking alcohol and chewing betel nut.
