Unique date
Today’s date is 22-2-22. It’s a Tuesday (otherwise spelt Twos-day). The next time we have the same date will be 100 years from now. Only a few, if any, will be around to witness it. So enjoy today. The rule is: Do everything in twos.
Sex period
The National Aids Council expects an increase in sexually transmitted diseases during the general election period, so is making available condoms at strategic places around the country as a precaution. But seriously, why does polling arouse some?
Making hay
To get a Covid-19 PCR test in the capital city, you have to pay between K500 and K750. Astounding! Obviously a case of making hay while sun shines?
Mixed up
Colleague asks workmate what the English word for sago is. He always thought that sago is pigin. He was quickly reminded that the pigin word is saksak. Last time we checked, colleague is a fully bred PNG native.
Most washed
Many people believe that the most washed part of the body since the Covid-19 hit the globe is the hand. In fact, it is the brain! Better believe it.
Food for thought
Six simple rules to life: Your only competition is who you were yesterday; Earn, save and invest before you spend; Avoid negative people; If you do not go after what you want, you will never get it; See failure as a beginning and not an end; Our habits decide our future.
Top quote
“We have run out of stock (of condoms). So in the next few days, we’ll be stocking up from the Badili store, and support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) who is our regular supplier of condoms.” – National AIDS Council secretariat acting director Tony Lupiwa.
