Forced friendship
Out of the blue you receive a message from FB that one has accepted your request to be that person’s friend when you do not even know him or her. Weird network!
Girls excel
A few of our girls are plying their trade in a top-level rugby competition Down Under. Great skills they have too!
Out of danger
The sound of gunshots can trigger (no pun intended) various kinds of reactions – the impulse to urgently get out of danger. A bus driver travelling towards Vision City in Waigani on Friday sped through the red light outside City Hall when he heard gunshots from the nearby stadium. It almost caused a nasty road accident.
Way to travel
Things may have been quiet hectic in the Tongan capital of Nukualofa recently after the devastating undersea volcanic eruption and the frantic efforts to restore normalcy and rebuild lives. This picture of people transporting timber at the back of a truck went viral.
Poor service
Colleague who lost his phone went to the mobile phone company shop At Vision City to get a replacement SIM and a new phone. He was told rather nonchalantly that they do not have replacement cards. What happened to the bigger better network?
Pickpocket victim
Colleague, a “pickpocket” victim at Boroko in Port Moresby on Friday, is warning unsuspecting citizens to be wary of men congregating on footpaths who suddenly “bump” into you. You must check your pocket/bag immediately!
Ides of March
Those who have read William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar will remember the soothsayer’s warning about the Ides of March. Today is the Ides of March. So, beware.
Food for thought
Don’t live your life with hate and anger in your heart. You will only be hurting yourself more than the people you hate.

“We must not take education lightly. This is our future and our children’s. Parents must invest more in their children’s future.” – Sinasina-Yongomugl MP Kerenga Kua.
