So misleading
A newspaper headline screaming “Josh Ado-Carr returning to Melbourne” raised a lot of eyebrows. Is he really rejoining the Storms? The story however is about him representing the Bulldogs for the first time against his former NRL team. Phew!
Blame Covid-19
This is the result of more than two years of wearing face masks, and, more importantly, listening to his wife while confined in the house during the compulsory home isolation period.
No fooling
From a reader: All April Fools’ Day jokes (today) have been put off because no prank can match the unbelievable amount of funny, mischievous deeds in the world right now.
Safest way
Advice from a distraught pal who discovered a hole in his pocket the morning after: “Because it is hard to tell the difference between a K2 note and a K100 note in a dimly-lit room such as a nightclub or bar, it is safest to change all your cash to K20.”
Too late
Two Melanesian national teams taking part in the World Cup qualifying round have been ridiculed for playing a friendly match after being bundled out of the tournament. They should have done that before the finals stages. Perhaps they are already preparing for 2026?
Cost cutting
A private medical center in Port Moresby has reduced the cost of a PCR test from K600 to K350, saying it is to “ease the burden on oversea travelers”. Yeah, right!
Food for thought
No matter how badly people treat you, never go down to their level. Stay strong, stay calm, and walk away.
