Daddies Day
It’s Fathers’ day on Sunday. It’s not too late to find daddy a special gift. Or perhaps give him a few cold ones to enjoy his special day apart from his birthday. If he is a sober dad, then give him a hot one – that is a hot cup of tea, of course.
Kina and toea
Standing in line to use the ATM doesn’t usually take long. Unless someone is holding up the line. That someone most likely has four bank cards. It’s not a super-rich person but the dinau man or meri. He or she has all the pin numbers of their clients and takes the cash that’s due. In the meantime others have to wait in line, patiently.
Loan sharks
A private loan business is popular these days. Working class go after these loan sharks to make ends meet. They have a fixed interest rate with some charging as high as 50 per cent in interest. Some even charge potential clients a bond fee to obtain a loan. And it’s all done outside of the formal economy with no taxes paid. There are no rules here. It’s every man for himself.
Finals Footy
The NRL season is drawing to a close and there at least eight teams that is a mathematical chance of playing finals footy. There two spots left to lock off the top eight. Who will it be? Support your team responsibly.
