New tactic
IT USED to be lamb flaks which candidates distribute to rural communities to win their votes during the election campaign period. Now, some candidate are even handing out K3 recharge cards. It means that voters are either getting smarter or the candidates are more desperate. Or, it may be just a sign of our progress.
So slow
It does not have to take petitions or protests by election officials for the EC to act on their overdue payments and release funds for their work. Sleeping on the job is just unacceptable.
Moment of panic
Colleague returning to Port Moresby on Air Niugini was tracking the flight progress on the monitor in front of him. When it showed “0 miles from destination” but the aircraft was still in the air, he panicked and buzzed the cabin crew. The nice hostess assured him that the flight monitor had been malfunctioning for some time.
Jittery fan
Broncos’ ardent fan is becoming jittery because his main man Adam Reynolds will not be available for the clash with the resurging Storm on Saturday.
Rival malls
Good for consumers in the capital city to have two big shopping malls facing each other across Waigani Drive. More choices.
Food for thought
A negative mind will never give you a positive life.
Top quote
“I want to ask our people and leaders to have regular health checks and take responsibility for their lifestyles. During the election period, don’t stress or over-push yourself. That can have a toll on your life.” – Prime Minister James Marape.
