Busy bodies
Now Queenslander Gorden Tallis has waded into the public debate over NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler’s selection for the SOO Two in Perth. Well he knows he gets paid just for expressing his views.
Many experts
The armchair critics have now shifted their attention from the PNG Kumuls selection for the Fiji test on Saturday, to the State of Origin Two teams’ selections. These guys should find a team to coach themselves.
Liquor ban
Colleague discovered only yesterday that there was a liquor ban in force in the capital city up to July 8. The polling does not start until July 4. So premature, he thinks. He thinks someone in City Hall is rather nervous.
No money
We are not out of the woods yet as far as Covid-19 is concerned but a health facility set up for the pandemic response has been closed for lack of funding. Seems like Covid-19 can wait, as there is an election to deal with first in PNG.
Beard in fashion
Almost all rugby players have beards nowadays. The clean-shaven, freshly-cut rugby players seem to have gone out of fashion. The bushy look is more cool.
Food for thought
Some people do not want to be part of the process but only be part of the outcome. But the process is where you figure out who is worth being part of the outcome.
Top quote
“The National Control Centre and Health Department have not given any indication on settling these dues, so we are not able to continue our testing and associated services at the Rita Flynn facility. We are not receiving the health service improvement programme funds from the Health Department so we cannot continue to incur more costs.” – National Capital District Health Authority chief executive officer Dr Steven Yennie.
