Odd name
At the Totally Wicked Stadium in England about eight weeks from now, the PNG Kumul will face Jason Taumalolo’s Tonga in their opening Pool D match of the 2022 Rugby League World Cup. PNG meet Wales at the same venue a week later. But, what a weird name for a football field.
Bad losers
Just crazy. Someone is now blaming the glassmen for influencing the outcome of some general election results.
They must be running out of excuses for their defeat.
Fresh start
Big boss who has just returned from Singapore held a meeting with staff of the department yesterday. A fresh start to the new journey ahead perhaps.
Sixth best
PNG is the world’s sixth best destination for – wait for it – snorkeling. Ranked above PNG are Australia, Maldives, Cuba, United States and the Bahamas. A good tourism selling point, don’t you think?
Weird business
One can only wonder what kind of business they run in this shop. By the look of things, it serves its employees only.
Go Chris
Western Highland-born Chris Minimbi is hoping to represent his mother’s country Fiji in the Rugby World Cup in France next year. He plays lock forward in the national team.
Food for thought
Remember that ships do not sink because of the water around them. They sink when the water gets into them. So do not let what is happening around you get inside you and weigh you down.
Top quote
“We have a big task in ensuring that all parts of the city have fire hydrants. We have talked about it a couple of times and need to start taking action because as the city expands, more houses are built. It is a sitting time bomb.”- PNG Fire Service Chief Bill Roo.
