About time
One sending-off that many rugby league fans praised referee Adam Gee for during Friday’s night clash between the Panthers and Storm was of Storm trainer Ryan Hinchcliffe. He was getting very close to the action, even barking orders to the players behind a scrum. Watch out now, Alfie!
No luck
Broncos fans hoping for a Storm win over the Panthers to guarantee a top spot for them were angry after Craig Bellamy’s men let them down.
Upside down
For some reason, the Manus flag was hoisted upside down outside Parliament House on Friday. We are sure Mister Speaker will have something to say to whoever is responsible for that.
On the wagon
Colleague decided three months ago to be on the wagon to save money for his birthday in September. But when he assessed his financial position at the end of last month, he discovered that he had not saved anything. In fact, he had spent more – on food.
Rugby mates
Three close workmates – two females and a male – went to watch a recent rugby match in one of the girls’ car. The girls supported one team while the poor guy had to sit away from them as he was cheering for the other. Towards the end of the match, and with his team winning, he texted them: “Can we remain friends after the game?” He badly needed a ride home.
Food for thought
Tomorrow is never promised. So love and appreciate the people who are in your life today.
Good quote
“Leaders of coastal communities (who) do not stop (seabed mining) are failing your people. Developed nations have banned seabed mining or have spoken up against it, because experts and scientists state that the unknowns are too great to ignore.” – Oro Governor Gary Juffa.
