Fresh start
To whom it may concern:
“I am walking into 2024 with a clean heart and mind. If you owe me, do not worry about it. If you wronged me, it’s all good, lesson learned. If you are angry with me, you won. I’ve let it go. If we are not speaking, it’s cool. I truly wish you well. If you feel I’ve wronged you, I apologise. It was not intentional. And I am grateful for every experience I received. Life is too short for pent-up anger, holding of grudges, and extra stress or pain. Remember, forgiving someone is for you. So don’t block your blessings. Make 2024 a year of positivity.”
Leap year
2024 is a Leap Year, meaning that there will be 29 days in February, and 366 days in the whole year. Just so you know when planning your budget.
Hottest year
2023 was the hottest year on record, with more of the same to expect this year. So stay hydrated, folks!
Welcome rain
Rain, although only for a short period yesterday, was a welcomed relief for Port Moresby residents following the recent “head-wave” they have been facing.
Keeping it clean
Food for thought
As you enter 2024, remember the five types of wealth: 1) Financial (money and possessions); 2) Social (status and popularity); 3) Time (freedom); 4) Physical (health and vitality); 5) Spiritual (peace of mind, self-respect). So be wary of jobs you may be lured into which provide you (1) and (2) but deprive you of (3), (4) and (5).
Best quote
“Power issues, (shortages, load-shedding, or nil supply) were major problems (faced by businesses) during the festive season. The top three challenges for businesses are foreign exchange supply, power and law and order. This is unlikely to change overnight in 2024.” – PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ian Tarutia.
