Cannot wait
Heads up: Only 30 or so more sleeps before the start of the 2024 NRL season. Can’t wait. No more 2023 NRL replays to watch on TV. Phew!
Lots of flak
PM Marape seems to be copping a lot of flak from all directions lately, mostly from political foes, as he nears the fifth anniversary of his term at the helm. An unenviable position indeed – and certainly not for the faint-hearted.
Political stability
Nipa-Kutubu MP Doctor Billy Joseph summed it up nicely for all MPs listening in: “In my short time in politics, I have seen that when there is consistent political stability, there is progress.”
Worst-kept secret
Hard to keep it a secret any longer, the pocket “meetings” taking place all over the country, with the motion of no-confidence in the Government top on the agenda.
Better option
Most, if given the option to be minister for petroleum or energy, are likely to pick the former simply because it is where the “money” is. Just saying!
First school day
Reassuring advice to first-time school-goers: “Wishing you a day filled with new friends, fun, learning, and laughter. Have an amazing first day of school!”
Change mindset
Replace “sorry” with “thank you”. Instead of “Sorry I’m late”, try “thank you for waiting for me”. Change your mindset.
Food for thought
“When you are resting because you are worn out, you need to remember that you are not wasting the day doing nothing. You are doing exactly what you need to do. You are recovering.”
Top quote
“In the recent Cabinet reshuffle, (Kerenga) Kua was relieved of his role as Petroleum Minister to concentrate on Energy. But he has chosen to resign. Despite this, I value Kua’s work, particularly under challenging circumstances.” – Prime Minister James Marape.
