Crystal ball
A trickle at the moment, but nonetheless numbers in the government continue to drop as the 18-month grace period it was allowed after winning the 2022 General Election ends today. Time to gaze into the crystal ball, while waiting.
Standing ovation
As foretold by Legislative Council member Kondom Agaundo in the early 60s to Australian parliamentarians who laughed at him, a “son” of PNG would address them in their language, “and you will not laugh at him”. True indeed, as PM Marape addressed Australia’s parliament in Canberra yesterday. They welcomed the “son” and appreciated his speech with a standing ovation.
Weird note
A note pinned on top of shelves full of eggs in a supermarket read: “Customer, be careful on handling. If you damage the tray eggs (sic), you will be paid (sic).” Wow!
Poor child
As the school year begins, many missing their mothers will relate to the story of the child who went to the cemetery, threw his school bag at his mother’s grave, crying: “Enough mummy! You have slept enough. Wake up. Come with me to school tomorrow and give an answer to my teacher who likes to say: Your mother is very careless. She sends you to school without a lunch box. She doesn’t even dress you up properly and does not make you do your homework.” Indeed, life without mom is not the same.
Food for thought
Life would be so much better if we try to see other’s heart, see what each of us is facing in life, then we should show each other more love, compassion and be more considerate.
Top quote
“My conscience will not allow it. I remained in Government hoping that it would solve our cost of living crisis, our power crisis, our forex crisis, our law and order crisis and our employment crisis.” – East Sepik Governor Allan Bird.
