Rugby academy
One of our fellow Melanesian member countries has started a rugby academy targeting students as young as 15 to identify and develop their skills early. Food for thought indeed, PNG.
Mockery of system
When law enforcement authorities start being selective on which laws to enforce, and which ones to ignore (betel-nut selling in Port Moresby – Buai Ban Act 2013), it is a mockery of the justice system. Why create a law in the first place when you know it cannot be enforced?
City Hall?
Mum-son talk
Son: Mummy, I got 48 out of 50 in my English test.
Mum: How long did it take you to complete it?
Son: Ten minutes.
Mum: Do you think you could have scored full marks if you took the time to read the questions carefully?
Son: I read the questions carefully.
Guilty of corruption
The latest new from one of our Melanesian member countries is that a former prime minister and police commissioner are awaiting sentencing after being convicted of corruption. Advice to leaders: You who seek only power and control will end up losing both.
Tallest vs shortest
The world’s tallest man, 41-year-old Sultan Kosen of Turkey, and the world’s shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, 30, of India, had a friendly meeting in Irvine, California last month. Looking up, looking down!
Keep on smiling
Sometimes all you can do is smile. Move on with your day, hold back the tears and pretend you’re okay. Life is short.
Food for thought
Parents do not need your tears when they die. They need your hugs, love, laughter, and care while they are still alive.
