Eighth wonder
The Leichhardt Oval in Sydney, home of the West Tigers outfit, is called the “eighth wonder of the world”. A wonder indeed, as many NRL fans are still scratching their heads over how the Tigers managed to end the undefeated run of table-toppers Cronulla Sharks 32-6 on that turf on Saturday. 8th wonder indeed.
That slogan
That “inappropriate” slogan used by a scaffolding company is raising eyebrows. The slogan should immediately be changed to “erecting temporary shelters is our business”, rather than just “erection is our business”! Two different things altogether.
First mug
Colleague who stopped consuming the amber liquid since the start of Lent six weeks or so ago is counting the days to his first mug this week. He wants to reward himself for being a “faithful”.
Quick buck
Word on the street is that the flower beds being built and pot holes covered around the city are ways to make a quick buck. Every day, you will see contractors fixing potholes which re-emerge after the rain. The flowers wither as no one is looking after the beds. Then they fix them again.
Out of mind
The recent rain seems to have swept away to wherever all the rubbish in the capital city’s drains and waterways. No one cares where they end up. Out of sight, out of mind!
Food for thought
How your child treats you well will not determine how they will treat the rest of the world. Instead how you treat your child will determine how they will treat the rest of the world and themselves.
