National census
With the PNG Games being deferred to next year, we should not hold our breath that another state project, the 2024 national population census, will go ahead as scheduled. They have just begun recruiting data collectors – a month before the counting.
Renewal time
There has been little to no blackouts in recent days in Port Moresby. PNG Power must have had a “renewal” of sorts during Easter. Pray, keep it that way forever, for our sanity’s sake.
Busy at work
District development authorities in other provinces have been busy at work, even with the little funds they have. Can’t say the same for the capital city. We have not seen any of the three five-year development plans yet, have we?

Total eclipse
People are flocking to the south-eastern parts of the United States to witness the total eclipse of the sun on Monday, March 8 – from Mexico, to Texas and through the eastern states before exiting in Maine. The last eclipse was in 2017.

A young traveler is in for a life of adventure after being born mid-flight and then gifted 90 free flights by the airline. A 31-year-old Haitian woman was flying from Mexico City to Ciudad Juarez when she unexpectedly went into labour on the Aeromexico flight which is celebrating its 90th anniversary. Lucky kid.
