Commission’s staff urged to perform, live up to oaths

STAFF from the National Economic and Fiscal Commission have been urged to perform and live up their sworn oaths.
Speaking during a dedication service for the commission’s staff in Port Moresby recently, Pastor David Jaruga said: “It’s dangerous to take an oath against the Bible because you have to live by everything it stands for, but if we live by the Word, then it carries us through.”
“When you go by what God is saying in the Bible, it gives you the power and the authority to live your life. It’s not about serving any institution; it’s about serving God.”
Jaruga recalled challenging the Bible when he first started studying it, but said the Bible turned out to be his code as it had given him his sense of purpose.
“Everyone living on this planet goes by some code, there’s a code that runs through life, whether it’s tumbuna pasin or Melanesian culture, and at the age of 16, I decided I would live by this code because I believe every word of the Bible,” he said.
Jaruga asked the staff what their code was and asked them if they had something to live for.
He urged them to contribute something or a part of their lives in dedication to the Lord.
“Let God make an impression on us then we pass it onto others,” he said.
