THE St Joseph Christian community of the Catholic church on Sunday celebrated the baptism of 20 children and their first holy communion.
Fr Eldwin Magbago, the priest of Holy Rosary parish at 6-Mile, said it was important that the children were baptised.
Fr Eldwin said despite the situation with the Covid-19 in the National Capital District, he did not want to postpone the celebration.
“We were given a circular stating that only 100 people would be allowed in any one event so we tried to maintain that in this celebration,” he said.
“I’m really happy for the Christian community that have offered their children to be baptised and receive Holy Communion. Thank you for the efforts of the Gabagaba people.”
Lotu communion minister Chris Manggin said the church was started two years ago.
Manggin, a teacher at Gabagaba, said the first baptism and holy communion would go down in the history of the church.
“I’ve been here teaching her for over 20 years and I also serve mass for the people of Gabagaba. I am very happy because my father, Joseph Manggin, started the congregation,” he said.

  • Thanks for encouraging people to attend church and be a good citizen but we must preached the Truth according to the Holy Bible. All Baptism that was recorded in the Holy Bible was done in Jesus Name. We must not be men pleasures but must do biblical things with the fear of the Lord because Heaven and Hell are real.
