Laba Security Services Ltd (LSSL), a joint venture between landowner company Laba Holdings, Guard Dog Security and Baker Hughes, a subsidiary of General Electric, were recently received safety recognition awards from ExxonMobil PNG Ltd for their safety performances.
Executive director of production, Dinesh Sivasamboo said Laba Security Services and Baker Hughes had excelled in their performance through their focus on training, development and mentorship of people
on the ground in the PNG LNG facilities.
LSSL programme manager Addis Balcha said their workers were happy with the recognition.
“Partnering with EMPNG encourages our workforce to work safely and has a huge impact on our safety culture,” he said.
Baker Hughes’ contract performance manager David Lindsay said working with a partner which held the same values reinforced a strong and open safety culture.
“ExxonMobil PNG is a key partner for us,” he said.
“Having an interdependent health safety and environment culture pushes us to perform better every day.”
Sivasamboo said no business objective was more important than the safety of employees, contractors, and people who lived and worked in and around ExxonMobil PNG’s operations.
ExxonMobil PNG said the awards recognised the commitment of both companies to uphold the core value of safety.
The shared values of safety, security, excellence, integrity, teamwork and environmental responsibility are essential to the way ExxonMobil and its business partners work together in PNG.
