Company donates meat products to athletes in Goroka, Lae

WITH Athletics Papua New Guinea’s distance running programme back in full swing after the Christmas break, Prima Smallgoods has again provided support with product donations.
About 100kg of meat products were delivered to Goroka last week, courtesy of Istana Limited.
Middle and long distance runners Siune Kagl, Dilu Goiye, Aquila Turalom, George Yamak, Wilford Baia and Abel Siune have been training at the National Sports Institute since early last month and are now preparing for the next round of competitions which will be held in April.
Institute staff member and former distance runner Philip Kamane is overseeing the athletes’ stay at the institute.
Meanwhile, in Lae, distance runners Ongan Awa, Scholastica Herman and Aina Goir have joined Mary Kua and Edna Boafob to form a training group under coach Allan Akia.
Prima staff delivered a variety of products to the Lae-based athletes on Monday.
Athletics PNG president Tony Green praised Prima for its continued assistance and thanked institute director Janet Gimots for the ongoing support of athletics programmes.
