CITY Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) yesterday donated more than K6,000 worth of refreshments to police in the National Capital District (NCD) to support them during the state of emergency operations.
CPL Group of Companies security manager Karl Pitil said the goods would be distributed to the three zones in NCD to police and soldiers working during the SOE.
Pitil said the company was pleased to give back to the community and was doing that regularly. CPL Foundation manager Oti Lasagavibau said the company was proud to support security personnel because they worked hard to make sure that there was peace and order during the emergency period.
NCD Met Supt Perou N’dranou, who received the goods from the company, welcomed the continuous support from the company.
He said police could do well with the support of the community and such donations from business houses would help them enforce the lockdown directives.
Supt N’dranou said the directives were not to restrict people unnecessarily.
But if health practices were not observed properly, then many will lose their lives.
That is why police would be hard on people who were not following orders, he said.
“We can only do our job well if the public support us in obeying the directives as well,” he said.
