Company launches uniforms

The East New Britain (ENB) Ports Services, one of the companies under the East New Britain Development Corporation (ENBDC), launched uniforms for its workers in Rabaul yesterday.
ENBDC Group human resource manager Boniface Leo told The National that the uniforms were industrial work wear.
Leo said the sections under the ENB Port Services are transport services, stevedoring, workshop and customs.
The managers and supervisors of the four sections witnessed the launch of the new uniforms and collected the uniforms for their staff.
He said this was the first time in three years they had given their staff and workers new uniforms.
The uniforms were purchased from New Guinea Footwear in Lae.
“The purpose of issuing the uniforms is part of our compliance of ENB Port Services and recently we lost one of our big clients Consort due to the fact that, we couldn’t manage our compliance to standard,” Leo said.
He said part of the compliance was work wear and safety management and other issues regarding operations.
