Completion of project ‘milestone’

Principal landowners of Hides PDL 7 say successful completion of the landowner beneficiaries’ identification (Lobid) exercise in PDL 1 and PDL 7 areas of Hides is a milestone achievement for Petroleum Minister Fabian Pok and the O’Neill Government.
Spokesman and chairman of Umbrella Hides PDL 7 Association, Erick Hawai Ako, commended Dr Pok for spearheading the Government’s efforts to resolve a legacy issue that had been a thorn in its side since 2013.
The landowners of PDL 7 said they fully support the Pok’s statement on the clan-vetting exercise in Hides PDL 1 and PDL 7, which are the two primary contributors of gas to the PNG LNG project.
“We are equally determined that this exercise comes to a successful conclusion to ensure that all the processes are completed for our 10,000-plus landowners in PDL 7 to start receiving our long-awaited benefits,” Ako said.
