AN organisation is targeting Digicel subscribers to connect them to employers who are advertising jobs on the internet.

PNG JobSeek marketing manager Richard Bana conducted the first awareness programme to inform the public to apply for jobs online.

He said their task was to get the public to register as job seekers so that registered employers already advertising on the internet board would select who fitted into what they wanted.

He said job seekers were registering daily.

“PNG JobSeek started operating on April 30 and so far has registered about 10,000 to 15,000 job seekers with a hundred companies currently advertising job vacancies on the job board,” Bana said.

It caters for those needing to find jobs or others who are employed but need to switch jobs.

“Digicel PNG has 2.3 million subscribers so they are targeting the general public by getting them to register online using their mobile phones,” he said.

Bana said the job board was linked to the digicel network.
