CONSTRUCTION on a Bank South Pacific branch has began at Yangoru station, East Sepik, and is expected to be completed within four months, BSP Group chief executive Robin Fleming say.
Fleming said the branch would have five staff to serve the district.
“It is contemplated that we will also upgrade Maprik this year with Angoram in the prospect for 2021,” he told The National yesterday.
Yangoru-Saussia MP Richard Maru said recently (on his Facebook page) that the K2 million building will provide banking services that people in the district currently transacted in Wewak and Maprik. “These are services like general banking, loans, foreign currency transactions, automated teller machines (ATMs), business banking and all other services,” he said.
Under this partnership with BSP, the Yangoru-Saussia development authority will deliver the district’s credit scheme from this branch.
