Cop wants committee in place

A PROVINCIAL law and order committee in Morobe should be in place to see that decisions relating to law and order in the province can be implemented, provincial police commander Supt Jacob Singura says.
“The members have to be sworn in immediately by the provincial administration,” he said.
Singura said the matter was discussed during a meeting with the provincial administrator Bart Impambonj last week.
“This is one area that has to be looked at quickly by the provincial administration to get the committee organised,” he said.
The province is understood to have gone without the committee for the last two years.
Singura said once the committee was in place, decisions relating to law and order could be taken on by the committee and be enforced.
