Cops charged with assault of superiors

TWO police constables attached to the Kokopo Police Station were arrested and charged on Monday for allegedly assaulting and insulting station shift Insp Mathew Tende.
East New Britain police commander Joseph Tabali said the two were suspended for 21 days and would be dealt with administratively and charged (with serious disciplinary charges).
Tabali said he was not happy with what happened because the members of the constabulary down the rank should respect those above their ranks and files.
He said because of disrespect among the members in the constabulary, there was also a lack of discipline and that was why there were many complaints against the police.
Tabali said according to the incident brief, it was alleged that on Saturday the two policemen drove off with the shift vehicle at about 1.45am and were out for some time without informing the shift supervisor.
He said the shift supervisor then called them to return to the police station but they ignored him.
Tabali said the shift supervisor then informed Insp Tende who ordered them to return the vehicle.
He said at the police station, the policemen started to swear at their supervisor and the police station commander.
He said the policemen then assaulted the shift inspector.

  • Assaulting is a serious breach. They both should be sent to prison. When are we going to change our way of thinking and doing things. Giving too much head ache to the organisation and Country as a whole.

  • Every PNGeans want to be a good police man and serve their country, why not terminate those sick minded members of the force and recruit new ones, they deserve to be working as security guards

  • Terminate both officers.
That shows how stupid they are by not respecting their superiors. Police force is a discipline organization.

    Over to you Commissioner Manning!

  • They both just wasting tax payers money so kindly terminate them from the force. They both lack discipline.

  • Terminate them from the force and their entitlements fortified to the supervisor and the police station commander and Shift Inspector as compensation fines and sent them to jail. Don’t pay them their finished pay. They paint are bad picture of Kokopo Police Station Commander. If they cannot respect Shift Inspector than, Just terminate and dismiss both of them , If you keep them there, they will continue to play hide and seek game in the force. They are not worthy to be call police men, they are to be called plantation wokboi. How did they recruited them as police constables? . Just terminate and dismiss both of them rather than suspending them and coming back. DON’T GIVE THEM A CHANCE AGAIN TO JOIN THE FORCE, RAUSIM TUPLA TASOL. Over to you Police Commander Joseph Tabali, don’t compromise with their wrong doing. Send them to Kerevat Jail, noken givim five lo tupla.

  • Just terminate them from the Police force so that they can go and work as security guards or go back home and work their land. Too much of undisapplined actions by a few are spoiling the Police force. There a so many good young kids who really want to join the Police Force and serve this country.

  • Remove the blue police uniforms that rightfully belongs to Police force and simply bestow them with the red and blue uniform of the missioners!
