THE Waigani Committal Court has summoned two policemen to explain allegations that they arrested a suspect and charged him K1000 for bail but then only issued him a receipt for K500.
Magistrate Mekeo Gauli summoned arresting officer Mark Moikia and National Capital District CID officer-in-charge Peter Kusup after the suspect, Patrick Pundao, told the court that he would file an affidavit claiming that what the policemen did was a criminal offence.
Magistrate Gauli also found that Moikia asked Pundao for K65 to pay for ink to print his police file.
It was also revealed that the arresting officer previously charged Pundao K2000 for bail.
